Floral Baby Shower With A French Twist May 13 2017 | BY Gia Bartolome
After many years of trying for our little miracle, I'm beyond excited to announce the birth of my baby girl, Amorelle, and the reason I took a much needed break from Sweet Paper Shop. I've finally found some time in between the nursing and diaper changes to share photos of our co-ed baby shower below. Hosted by my dear parents and attended by close family and friends, we enjoyed a French inspired luncheon adorned with floral touches, shiny gold details and pink hues to welcome the baby girl blooming in my belly. Read on for more details and to see more photos from our shower.
These round paper placemat menus finished in gold foil are a design idea I've been itching to do. Want these for your event? You can order these menus and other custom stationery items in these photos via our custom design services. Macaron favor boxes and gold acrylic "Mama" and "Papa" signs for our place settings match perfectly with the placemat menus. While Gold acrylic tends to be more delicate than wood for lettered signs and cake toppers, it is definitely glam!
Baby shower games can be elegant, too. "Baby Word Unscramble" is much more fun when played on pretty cards. I absolutely adore the miniature gold clothespins guests wore and stole from each other for the popular "Don't Say Baby Out Loud" game.
I didn't have room in the budget for a florist, so I ordered these eucalyptus garlands from a local wholesale flower store to use on the guest tables. With DIY help from my family, we decorated them with fresh pink and white roses before the guests arrived.
A custom backdrop, abundant garland, gold sequin tablecloth, gold cake topper and gold cupcake wraps make a cake table with a small number of desserts much more lush and luxurious. The gold acrylic "Amorelle" sign has to be my favorite item of the shower. A custom name sign makes the perfect addition to any party as well as a beautiful keepsake and nursery decor. Using the same pretty script font type throughout the shower helps to create a consistent look.
Our baby shower was a family friendly event that included the little ones. While adult guests took home macaron favors, the kids received these "Sucre" gable boxes filled with sweet goodies. To keep them busy during the shower, I made these Eiffel Tower placemats for the kids to color! C'est magnifique!

Real Wedding: Peach Flowers and Grey Stripes August 09 2016 | BY Gia Bartolome
The graphic combination of flowers and stripes has become a perennial favorite of stylish brides and party hosts. It's a new classic our customers can't seem to get enough of and we can see why. It mixes feminine and masculine, modern and traditional, and is at once organic and symmetrical. On that note we're excited to share with you details from the California wedding of Sophie and Lawrence at Serra Plaza in San Juan Capistrano. As our clients, we transformed their fondness of flowers and stripes into a matching stationery suite in the couple's peach and grey wedding colors. We created square table card numbers, tented escort cards, personalized favor boxes and designed a unique invitation booklet the couple had printed via Wedding Paperie. Love what you see? You can find their Peach Flowers and Stripes Favor Box right here in our online store. The matching table and escort cards can be made to order for you via our custom design services. Confetti and Sprinkles: Hanukkah Sweets Table December 04 2015 | BY Gia Bartolome
Cue the confetti! Sweet Paper Shop is in print. You can see our chocolate bar wrappers in the Winter 2015 Issue of Joy of Kosher Magazine. It's the companion print to joyofkosher.com - the #1 kosher food and recipe website in the world. In this issue, party styling expert Oksana Bellas of As Sweet As It Gets Events delights us with a whimsical out-of-the-box Hanukkah dessert table. Confetti marshmallow pops, sprinkled donuts and cupcakes, custom dreidel cookies, gumball machines and confetti banner make this table pop with color. We designed the "Have a Ball" custom tags for the gumball machines and "Happy Hanukkah" wrappers for the Hershey's chocolate bars. Since we don't often get to see what our customers do with our products after we ship them off, seeing it all come together in this spread is truly delightful. We hope these photos inspire you to create an unforgettable sweets table for your holiday party. Be sure to scroll down for more photos and to see where you can get some of the goodies on this table.

Super Girl Birthday Party Table November 11 2015 | BY Gia Bartolome
Yoga meets Super Girl in this ultra cool kid's birthday party. Our clients at As Sweet As It Gets Events asked us to create custom invitation, backdrop sign and "energy snack" labels for a Super Girl themed party at Yoga Buttons Studio in Vancouver. The catch? No conventional super hero images, comic book bubbles or skyscrapers in the design. We knew it would be a challenge, and like brave super women we accepted it! After working closely with our client and going through various ideas, we decided on vibrant color, bold stars and messages of health, wellness and girl empowerment to inspire the budding yogis. The centerpiece of the custom design was a modern typeface tweaked and extruded to capture the youthful super hero vibe. We love seeing it all come together on this party table style by our client for a very lucky super girl!

Seaside 40th Birthday Soiree at Hotel Del Coronado September 24 2015 | BY Gia Bartolome
What's a perfect way to celebrate the end of summer? Hosting a milestone 40th birthday by the sea for the one you love most! As founder of Sweet Paper Shop, I spend most of my days (and nights) planning, designing and creating. Since it's my job, it may seem an easy task to do the same for my husband's 40th. Admittedly I felt some self-induced pressure to create a stunning event. I initially suggested we get on a plane for a quick romantic escape. Despite my cajoling for an out of town getaway, what he wanted most was the company of close family at one of his favorite local spots. So instead of jetting off, our families came to us from near and far for an intimate birthday weekend at the historic Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego. It was the perfect venue for a seaside soiree. Our guests enjoyed sunset dinner and S'mores on the Beach followed the next morning by Sunday Brunch in the Crown Room. The Hotel Del does S'mores right with personalized bonfire service. The attentive staff keep the fire going all night and provide chairs and blankets. No clean up needed! Picnic boxes, champagne toast, hot dog roast, Jack Johnson tunes, beach toys for the little ones, nautical favors and chocolate bars were some of the details inspired by the seaside theme. For this big 4-0, there was no proverbial hill or wearing of black. The birthday boy wore his favorite navy blue gingham and a smile on his face, happy to be surrounded by a few of his favorite things and people. I had so much fun myself that I only had time to take a few photos to share with you below. I hope you get inspired to create a unique birthday experience for someone you love. Let us know how we can help!
Glamorous Art Deco Chocolate Bar September 11 2015 | BY Gia Bartolome
The Great Gatsby revival and Art Deco trend in wedding and party design continue to inspire hosts seeking a bit of glitz, glamor and sophistication. The era's strong visual aesthetic, distinctive typefaces and striking patterns are the inspiration for our popular collection of personalized Art Deco Candy Bar Wrappers. Our personalized wrappers printed on pearl shimmer paper showcase how easy it is to transform a Hershey's chocolate bar into an ultra luxe Art Deco confection. Chocolate desserts in edible art form like the chocolate shell and truffles are a perfect match to rich hues like gold, espresso and peacock. Put your chocolate beauties on a pedestal using pretty cake stands and compotes for architecture and symmetry. Finish it off with a whimsical sign and you have the recipe for a spirited fete. The phrase on the featured backdrop is our playful take on a popular saying emboldening guests to get their chocolate buzz on. We specialize in custom design and can make something similar just for you.
Chinoiserie Fortune Candy Bars for a 70th Birthday Party April 01 2015 | BY Gia Bartolome
We created these French and Oriental inspired Chinoiserie Fortune Wrappers, custom menus and favor tags for a milestone 70th birthday party. We love the wrappers so much, we added them to our shop. Maybe Confucius didn't really say, "Those who eat sweets have happy belly," but you can! Make your wrapper memorable with a whimsical saying and small photo on the back. Instead of plates and pedestals, use bamboo steamers to display your candy bars and desserts. Finish the ensemble with paper fans, ginger jars filled with custom fortune cookies and geometric pattern to balance the traditional elements. Be sure to check out all available colors and browse more Chinoiserie inspired wrappers here. Like the matching menus and tags? We can make custom stationery to coordinate with any wrapper design in our shop. Click here to learn more about our affordable custom design services.
