We're all about mixing high and low and finding affordable ways to style a sweets table. The splurge here? The white scalloped fondant cake. The budget savvy elements? Pretty much everything else! The pink buttercream mini cake came from our local grocery store. You could easily add more than one of these petite cuties to the table. We topped both cakes with DIY gold glitter bunting and hearts.

Meringues are the overlooked sibling to the French macaron. Just as timeless and beautiful to behold, they have a unique sculptural quality that adds lightness, movement and texture to the table scape. They're also delicious! We used Trader Joe's Vanilla Meringue Cookies. Don't have a Trader Joe's nearby? Try Miss Meringue online. They've got a range of pastel meringues in flavors like mint, pink, lemon and cocoa.

Candy and chocolates wrapped in pretty packaging make an easy addition to any sweets table. Wrap Rolo Bars in pink and white crepe paper tied at the ends with gold ribbon. So chic and simple! Make it personal with Hershey's 1.55 oz milk chocolate bars wrapped in our customized candy wrappers. They add a bit of pattern and double as giveaways for guests to bring home.

A dessert table is not complete without chic platters and pedestals to display your sweets. The mini glass cake stands pictured here are vintage finds from a local antique store. For the wrapped Hershey's bars, we wanted a square stand but couldn't find just the right style so we made one! We used extra strength glue to attach a vintage wine glass to a new Diamont Glass Plate from CB2. To make it more luxe, we painted the wine glass bright gold with metal finish spray paint from Rust-Oleum. We're addicted to gold spray paint and couldn't resist painting the meringue stand gold, too. Pops of gold bring everything together!

What better way to finish off a scalloped themed dessert table, then with a scalloped tissue backdrop? We chose white tissue to emphasize the textural quality of the pattern although most any color would look gorgeous. It's a time consuming DIY project yet well worth the effort. Lucky you! We've done some of the work for you and made a FREE Scallop Template you can download here. Just print on letter size paper, cut and trace over layers of tissue. Then tape the scalloped shaped tissue onto the wall in overlapping rows from bottom to top. Use at least two layers of tissue per scallop to make it more opaque. Alternatively, you can tape the scalloped tissue onto white cardboard so you can place the backdrop wherever you like and reuse again for another party.
